More scans, and now it's getting scary...

Well, the pace has certainly picked up now, and no mistake. My first taste of nuclear medicine was certainly weird, as I first gt to the clinic and was asked to swallow two rather large pills, apparently to protect my thyroid glands from the radioactive iodine solution that was to be injected an hour later. Three hours after that, and I was ready for the scan. I wondered what it entailed, and was sat into the cradle in the gurney, with my head literally strapped down to prevent movement, while two large photoelectric plates were manouevered around my head at various angles, as if Robbie the Robot was busting shapes just out of sight behind me. I half expected to hear a metallic voice grating out "Big fish, little fish, cardboard box" while this all happened.

Instead, I heard nothing at all. I asked the doctors how this scanner worked, and was told that the solution I was injected with was making me emit radiation, as if I was Dr Who mid-regeneration, and t…
